Meet Tricia McGuire Adams – 2016 Winner

2016 Rose Nolan Scholarship winner Tricia McGuire Adams is a member of Bingwi Neyaashi Anishinabek, Ontario. She is entering her fourth and final year in the Ph.D. Human Kinetics program at the University of Ottawa.

Tricia achieved an A+ grade point average in all of her PhD course work at the University of Ottawa and her Masters of Arts Degree was completed in the Indigenous Governance Program at the University of Victoria.

Tricia volunteers with Friendship Centres -specifically the Odawa Native Friendship Centre. For the past seven years she has been a kettle bell instructor and has also been an advisory committee member for the Aboriginal Justice Program. Additionally, Tricia writes funding proposals for the Urban Aboriginal Healthy Living Program.
