2015 Rose Nolan Scholarship winner Sage Guiboche is a member of Nisichawayashihk Cree Nation in Manitoba. She is entering her fourth year at the University of Manitoba majoring in Nursing.
She became interested in the medical field when her grandmother got sick and when her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer; when Sage was seventeen her mother passed way. Consequently, Sage faced many challenges as her mother was her biggest supporter, however, she persevered and developed a successful work ethic.
Sage is passionate about becoming a nurse and would like to provide the same exceptional care to others that her family received when they were in the hospital. She is also interested in social justices in society- particularly human trafficking, and missing Aboriginal women. She is with a student group called Segue that is working to raise awareness.
