2016 Rose Nolan Scholarship winner Jillian Ryan is a member of Qalipu Mi,Kmaq First Nation in Newfoundland. She will be entering her second year in the Bachelor of Nursing Fast-track program at the Western Regional School of Nursing and will graduate in October 2017.
Jillian has always been interested in a career in healthcare and in May 2012 graduated from Memorial University of Newfoundland with a Bachelor of Kinesiology (Honours) and then graduated with a Master of Public Health in 2013. Unable to find a job she then decided to return to school in the nursing program.
Jillian has volunteered with older adults in various nursing homes in the province and was an exercise volunteer with NeuroFIT, which is an exercise program for people with neurological impairments.
