Parents, please have your child at the St. Mary’s Band Office parking lot no later than 8 am on Monday, Oct. 4th as he or she will need to check in.
Local community members will be on hand to wish the students a safe journey as coffee, hot chocolate and timbits will be provided before the bus departs. Also, the students will be departing Tatamagouche, Nova Scotia on Friday, Oct. 8th after lunch at 1:30 pm and with a 3 ½ hour driving time the estimated time of arrival is 5 pm.

The Ted Nolan Foundation is thrilled to have your children attend our 2nd Aboriginal Youth Leadership Camp through Oct. 20th till the 24th. This year the camp will be hosting an additional fifty new students and we look forward to meeting you.
On Saturday, Sept. 25th at Etienne Brule Public School a meeting will be held with John Malcolmson, Tim Horton Children’s Foundation along with president Ted Nolan. This will be our last meeting before the send-off and will consist of what to expect at the camp along with activities, schedule of departure time and any questions or concerns you might have. Etienne Brule School is located at 241 Albert St. West near the International Bridge and we will begin at 2:30 pm. Please bring your completed forms that you have received in the mail.

On Sunday, September 19th at the Entertainment Centre on St. Mary’s First Nation the Ted Nolan Foundation will be holding a parent/student meeting with Dorothy Cousins from Tim Horton Children’s Foundation Camp, Barb Brown from District 18 along with president, Ted Nolan.
The meeting will begin at 2 pm with discussions on the upcoming leadership camp, send-off and what your child can expect at the camp. Forms will need to be signed so please bring you health cards.

Fifty First Nation students will have the opportunity to participate in a unique leadership camp, part of a five-year partnership announced between The Tim Horton Children’s Foundation and the Ted Nolan Foundation. Students have been selected with the help and support of First Nation Education coordinator, Barb Brown and District 18 School Board in Fredericton, New Brunswick.
The students between the ages of 11 – 14 will participate in a program designed to cultivate leadership skills, teamwork and independence through various wilderness activities combined with First Nation teachings.
The Tim Horton Children’s Camp in Tatamagouche, Nova Scotia opened in 1988 and is located on the shores of the Northumberland Strait. President, Ted Nolan and his wife, Sandra along with Chief Candice Paul and local dignitaries from the community and surrounding area will be at the send-off from St. Mary’s First Nation on Oct. 4th.

The Ted Nolan Foundation along with our partner Tim Horton Children’s Foundation are excited to announce the dates for both leadership camps. Starting in Tatamagouche, Nova Scotia the date will be Oct. 4th till Oct. 8th as this will be the first pilot for future expansion in Atlantic Canada.
Our second camp which will be our second annual leadership camp will be held Oct. 20th till the 24th at Onondaga Farms, just north of Brantford, Ontario. With a total of hundred and fifty youth attending both camps the Ted Nolan Foundation is very grateful to Tim Horton Children’s Foundation for this unique opportunity.
