Onion Lake First Nation Hockey Camp

On hand was Brandon Nolan, who got his break with the Carolina Hurricanes a few years ago.  “I love coming out to these communities, helping out with the kids and teaching them what I can, and just giving back to the communities,” said Nolan, who wants the kids to learn the basics, but also wants to instill in them the right attitude and a good sense of confidence.

“You just have to work hard and stick with it. Sometimes it gets hard along the way but those guys that stick with it and push themselves, they’re the ones that get success along the way.

“There were points in my career when I was going to quit, and if I did that I probably would have never gotten the chance to play in the (National Hockey League).”
