St. Paul’s High School Testimonials

“One thing that stands out in my mind from yesterday’s assembly was how effective and how powerful his speech was.  After hearing about his parents and the life he had made me think about how much we take for granted.  Another thing was when he talked about not giving up and I’m sure most of us can agree, evern when things get rough don’t give up and keep trying.  Be proud of who you are and where you come from because were all the same in God’s eyes.”Comment by:  Daniel Stronges

“One thing that stands out in my mind from yesterday’s assembly is his childhood story about life on a reserve.  It was eye-opening to hear that he had big dreams even though there was small opportunities because he is an aboriginal.  His childhood memories of working hard and not having the  basic neccessities shows me just how lucky I really am.”

“If I could talk to Ted Nolan for a minute after the assembly, I give him a hug because the presentation was very emotional.  I felt like crying when he described life on reserves and residential schools.  I would tell him that he really has made a difference in the world and he should be proud of himself.  He’s a role model for all aboriginals as well as human beings.  If people all over the world had the same mind frame that he did, the world would definitely be drastically better.  On the other hand, I’d congratulate him on winning NHL Coach of the Year.  Also, how to say a few things in a native language and that he ’s welcomed back to St. Paul School anytime.”
